Laurie Krotman

Before founding SEU, Laurie established and operated Modern Research Press, 21st Century Advertising and First Class Management.  For the latter, she promoted and managed over 150 rock and roll bands in the tri-state area. She was a researcher for Time Magazine and a policy-planning analyst for McKinsey and Company.

Laurie serves on the Board of Women in Development and is Vice President of Programs. As a member of the New York City Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, she chairs the Special Events track for Fundraising Day in New York, and is the logistics coordinator for National Philanthropy Day.

She is a member of WBE and a registered fundraising professional. Publications include “What You Can Get Free From The Government”, “Travel Smart”, as well as numerous articles in business and academic journals. She has a BA from Cornell University, attended Leningrad University, and has taught workshops and presented at the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York, Molloy College, PRPLI, AFP, NYS Library System, and various corporate venues in the tri-state area.  She is on the faculty of NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, George H. Heyman, Jr. Center for Philanthropy teaching the event fundraising track.

 

Susan Shattuck

Prior to founding Special Events Unlimited, Susan Shattuck worked for WCBS-TV and CBS News where she was a producer, news manager and writer. She was also a newspaper columnist and magazine and documentary film writer. As a Board member of the New York Environmental Planning Lobby, and as a community leader, she worked with a coalition of New York environmental groups on a statewide campaign to establish recycling and other green initiatives.

Susan is the President of the New York City Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and served as Chair of Fundraising Day in New York. She is a member of Women in Development. She has taught workshops and presented at the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York Molloy College, PRPLI, AFP, NYS Library System, and various corporate venues in the tri-state area.

She is a member of WBE and a registered fundraising professional. Susan is on the faculty of NYU’s School of Professional Studies, George H. Heyman, Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising where she teaches the event fundraising track. She attended the University of California at Santa Barbara and Columbia University.
